A first-hand account of Drake's circumnavigation of 1577 to 1580, printed by Richard Hakluyt in The Principal Navigations and attributed to Francis Pretty, a gentleman on the voyage. It describes the passage through the Strait of Magellan, the execution of Thomas Doughty at Port St Julian, the plunder of Spanish ships and towns along the Pacific coast of the Americas, the landing in what Drake named Nova Albion in California, the crossing to the Moluccas and the return to Plymouth by the Cape of Good Hope.
